Return of the Rhino is a short film about the rise, fall, and return of black rhinos to Gonarezhou National Park in Zimbabwe. Over the decades, the black rhino population in this park vanished due to hunting and poaching. After a 30 year absence, black rhinos returned to Gonarezhou in 2021 thanks to the collaboration and persistence of conservation groups. This film highlights the important work of long-time RRF grantee Frankfurt Zoological Society, who partnered with the Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority to form the Gonarezhou Conservation Trust, and other rhino-focused organizations as they continue to build a hopeful future for black rhinos in this national park.

The rhinos are housed in a boma to get them used to their new home before being released.
