This recent article from the Goldman Environmental Prize details the vital work being done by Rudi Petra and the Leuser Conservation Forum to save endangered Sumatran rhinos from extinction. There are less than 80 Sumatran rhinos left in the world, and Indonesia’s Leuser Ecosystem is their safest remaining home—since the early 2000s, Rudi and the Leuser Conservation Forum have maintained a zero-poaching rate for this rare rhino.

The Sumatran rhino is one of the rarest rhinos left in the world.

Rudi and his team are regularly in touch with the RRF regarding the protection and status of Sumatran rhinos in Indonesia, and we are so glad that he is receiving the recognition he deserves for his extraordinary work.
