Rhino conservation goes beyond protecting the species. It requires a holistic approach to secure vital landscapes and benefit communities and key stakeholders living alongside rhinos. The Rhino Recovery Fund (RRF) focuses on investing in effective rhino conservation projects that understand this, which often involve reintroducing, monitoring, and safeguarding rhinos that act as a source for wider landscape-level conservation.
The RRF has partnered with the North Luangwa Conservation Programme—a partnership between Frankfurt Zoological Society and the Zambian Department of National Parks and Wildlife—who integrate black rhino conservation with community development. This makes rhinos relevant to local society, helping to build a better future for rhinos and the communities that protect them.
